Where’s My Water Review
A HALF EFFORT FROM THE TEAM OVER AT DISNEY.
Don’t get me wrong, the concept of the game is simple, there isn’t much to learn and I guess it’s aimed at kids, but most of the young ones in my family have no idea how to play it at all. The youngest person I’ve seen playing it is 15, anything below that would need someone there to guide them. It might just be the kids in my family that can’t grasp the basic science of water, I wouldn’t let it put you off trying the app with your young ones, you may have a little genius in your hands.
If you take the ‘Disney’ away from this title, you’d be impressed, it’s a compact, brain challenging game that can hold some level of entertainment for at least 15-20 minutes. Then you have to remember that Disney is a worldwide behemoth in entertainment, a billion dollar company…
This is Disney we’re talking about…
Yes, I thought the same, they have teams and teams of skilled developers and designers dedicated to this kind of stuff, yet the intro animations aren’t even high def graphics, they’re mostly pixelated.
Gameplay is basic, and the levels are quite extensive, there are some in-app purchases to unlock other characters and level packs but no purchase is needed to enjoy the main game and the huge amount of levels it holds.
Overall I’d say it’s a good game for Disney to enter the App Store with but it lacks innovation, originality and nothing is really unique, you know, the kind of things that you automatically think “ahh that’s Disney”.
Only 2 taps for you Where’s My Water, let’s hope something more exciting is in the pipeline from your creators!
