KEEP ROLLIN’ ROLLIN’ ROLLIN’
Everyone loves those simple games that just get you fuming in less than a minute of playing them right? me neither. Roll is a Free App available from the App Store and was brought to us by Gourmet Pixel Ltd. I decided I’d download a random App to review today and wow this one really pissed me off. I thought it’d be something simple to keep me busy when I was travelling to work or something but…No, The game infuriates me which would never be good in the back of a taxi.
Why does it infuriate you so much Nathan? Well I’ll tell you why and lets be honest It’s not going to be pretty. The game starts off with two balls which you need to put back into their original slots by tilting your phone around, sounds simple enough? well the first level is easy and you’re loving life. Then the madness happens they add another ball and the game suddenly becomes a challenge, not to mention the timer ticking away at the side of your screen.
There is nothing I hate more than a timer telling me how long I have to complete something which is slowly driving me insane. I wouldn’t mind but when you do get the balls in the right slot you can knock them out with another ball but alas if you put the wrong colour in the wrong hole the game is OVER and you must try again?! I think I got up to level 3 or something and got too annoyed to play any more. This game might be right up some of your streets but it certainly isn’t up mine.
I’ll not be playing the App again for the good of my health, Roll you’ve scored a very annoying 2 taps from me.

APPARENTLY KATE MOSS‘S FAVOURITE GAME
Dumb Ways To Die is a game brought to us by Metro Trains Melbourne Pty Ltd. The App is free from the App Store so you won’t be needing to pull out your wallet any time today 😉 The game it’s self is very similar to the old Idiot Test on the internet/iPad. You go through stages in which you have to react quickly before the timer at the top of the page runs out.
Now I’m always dead awful at these games as they require some sort of precision but this one is brilliant. The game starts off slow and your aim is to gain points. The more you gain the better the prize gets that you unlock, from new characters on the start screen to music videos and much more.
You can gain points by completing stages fast and also by doing absolutely nothing the game sometimes rewards you. The more you play the faster the game gets and you’ll find yourself having to move your finger to clean up vomit from your screen at a super fast speed, everyone’s dream right? I knew it. The levels are well designed and always have a fun idea behind them, like having to duck from a bear attack or simply tapping away some wasps wanting to sting your face.
This App is right up my street and for that I’m giving it a great 4 Taps. You’ve got to download it and give it a try, it really is addictive!
I have to say Nathan, you really do pick your games. Definitely think they designed one of the characters after you ;).
Enough of the virtual flirting and back to the reason i’m here. Dumb Ways To Die was kind of a flash in the pan for me, I tried it when it first appeared on the App Store and I loved the quirkiness. After a while though I felt the game lacked any sort of continuous excitement, the levels were just the same, but faster, like everything was playing in a loop. Loops get boring.
On a positive note, I liked the UI and the animations were smooth and fluid, entirely from a design perspective, the game looks great.
Maybe I just don’t like death or I’m being unfair, I challenge you to make your own decision and try it out. Sorry DWYD, you get 1 tap from me. Peace.

UNLEASH YOUR IMAGINATION & BE A GOD
The power of creation is in your hands! In this addictive, ALL ages, puzzle game. Mix and match different ombinations of fire, earth, wind and air to create an entire universe.
When it comes to Science, you think of the basic stuff, like planets, the human body, sperm, photosynthesis and all the other stuff that you can remember from secondary school. I’d say that Doodle God is a science app, or should i say a science game, however, let’s just say this game kinda muddles up the letters in the word science. You’re left with the parts of science that were banned from the curricular activities you used to innocently perform, for most of us anyway, the ones who cut open poor innocent lambs (bahh) you should be used to the reactions you’d find in this game.
Let me tell you a little bit about what you do on this game, you buy the app for 69p on the App Store, you open it, and it presents you with the Doodle Wizard, he tells you a little bit about the universe before time was created, you know, all the stuff that God created before he created man. After he’s done this, he leaves the power of creation to you. Sounds exciting right! From there on you use every brain cell you have to work out what it is you need to create, your task is to combine two objects together to make an equal or better object. For example, a human combined with sex would equal life. A cart combined with a wheel would equal a wagon, and so on.
For most parts, it’s fun, quick and the reactions you perform can be quite surprising. Some are quirky, others are wacky and some are just god damn freaky. I can guarantee that you that this will be one of the most pleasant and uplifting games you can play, each new object you make leaves you intrigued about what you can create with it. Those moments when you have a few minutes to spare, say goodbye to your boredom, this game takes it away for you!
Download it, give it a chance and if you can’t get enough, rejoice! This game has cousins – Doodle Devil AND Doodle Farm!

THE WORLDS MOST DEVILISHLY ADDICTIVE DEFENCE GAME
I have been playing this game since it’s release at the beginning of June and since then it’s consumed nearly all of my free time, in fact, i think on some occasions I made time to play the game.
Gameplay – the game consists of multiple levels situated on a map. The goal is to protect your land from dragons, man-eating plants and ghastly denizens of the underworld. You have bases on each level to build 4 towers of your choice, either a mage, archer, soldiers or artillery. Each with their own unique upgrades and abilities, you tactically place them to prevent any enemies passing through your land. It may sound easy but from experience, it’s one hard son of a bitch when it gets going.
The first level starts off like most other first levels, the basics, you get to know how the game works, what you have to do and what not to do to succeed. Just like life, you learn as you go along. But this time with magic stuff and lots of bombs!
I bought the app for £2.99, the best £2.99 i have ever spent. Everything about the game is beautiful, the voiceovers of the characters gives it character and humour, the big bosses are really cool too, i found myself getting all excited when they’d show up to my surprise.
Our first game to receive 5 out of 5 taps! Well done IronHide!
Well, it’s a dull, rainy day here today, I have a few spare hours at my disposal, a few hours I thought I’d spend with you. At the beginning, I promised myself that I would fully commit myself to this blog, a way for me to showcase some creativity or skill whilst the holidays surrounded me and London was 300 miles away. It pains me to say that i failed myself, and you guys on that promise. A lot has happened since then, both personally and professionally and I feel right now at this moment, a new wave of determination to make this blog a real life thing for me has taken over, a want, a need, to make it maybe one day, a job.
Writing has always been an interest for me, I am passionate about technology and design and was luckily blessed with good taste for both, so the only natural thing for me to do is this. A blog. For you to take in my opinion, maybe argue with it, challenge it or even influence your own. Whatever it does, just reading it will make my day, the other 3 are all bonuses.
Whilst it may seem that my attention has been focused entirely on everything but this blog and the lack of posts are there to back that up yes, but, you have always been there in the back of my mind, time my friend, it’s what’s been against us. Over the last couple of weeks I have been downloading new apps, paid and free, and some old apps that have been updated with new features and even complete redesigns. With that in mind, I will be bringing to you my reviews and thoughts on all that Tap This App has to say about them. Here are just a few of the apps you will be reading about real soon.
Stay tuned, I pinky promise you that you have not been forgotten about. My time is now in your hands.
